This week we celebrated the ending of another awesome school term. We had a time of praise and worship that was led by three of our girls. The students were honored for all of their hard work. Each class came to the front to recite their passage of Scripture. Our preschool kids did Psalm 23 as well as the 10 commandments. Each of the other classes recited an entire chapter. Then every student was called to the front by their teacher and presented with a certificate which honored one or two specific character traits that they consistently modeled throughout the term. We also honored each of our teachers for the amazing job they did. We are blessed to have a staff who views their “job” as a ministry.
Two of our volunteers, Paula and Terri, attended the closing ceremony. They have been spending time every Wednesday doing arts and crafts as well as reading with the kids, which they will continue during the break time. Paula and Terri gave a gift of homemade cookies to each child. They have been a blessing to us as well as the kids.
Fatuma Joy also has completed her term at school. She took many tests and did very well on all of them. We are so proud of her, and grateful to our friends at Rehema Pefa Orphanage for providing a classroom for her.
