Many of the kids enjoyed an art lesson and some time to paint with Miss Jane on Saturday. She taught about proper brush strokes and caring for your supplies. She also showed the how to paint objects such as fruit or trees. As the children began to paint, she was there to encourage and instruct them. The kids had a great time. We are thankful to Miss Jane for the time she spends with the kids. She has also spent time in each apartment teaching our moms how to make homemade bread. With the amazing smell of homemade bread in the air, I was glad to be doing only a partial fast.
Our church, Nairobi Lighthouse Church, has joined with over 1,000 churches (Awake 21) in 21 days of prayer and fasting. Many of our older kids have chosen to fast 1 or 2 meals a day. During lunch break they gather in Apt. A, where Mama Mary leads worship and Baba Zedi shares a word with them. They also spend time in prayer concerning various topics. It is so wonderful to see them being taught and practicing such an important foundational truth. Our kids will be world changers!
It is so exciting to see walls going up and rooms being divided in our new school. The plumbing is in place for the toilet block, and you can see the spaces for windows. I am in awe of the hard work that I’ve seen from our construction crew. They are doing an excellent job. If any of you are on Facebook you can see the 3D layout on Jon’s page. It has been a blessing for Dr. Hensold to be able to see the progress. It won’t be to long before we get to dedicate the Mary C. Hensold Resource Center. To God be all the glory for the great things He has done and continues to do.
