Praise God, everyone! We are so grateful to God and give Him all the honor and glory for what He is doing at Kings Kids Village. We count it an absolute privilege to know and be in the lives of our Kings Kids. We hold them before the Throne of Grace constantly and believe God has a plan and purpose for each one of them
2017 will go down in history as the year when most KKV kids took the Kenya National Examinations at a time. Be have so many, because our intake policies have allowed older siblings to join their younger brother/sister at our children’s home. Many of our older kids had gotten behind in school prior to coming our way and many have now reached the end of their primary or secondary school journey at the same time.
We have done our best to prepare and pray for our students. Now it is all over. As of this writing, we have the results for our Kenya Certificate of Primary Education(KCPE) students and we are awaiting the results of our high school students who took the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education(KCSE). For those who took the KCSE exams, it is a time to grow up and look for some vocational training as they look for work. For others it is a time to look for which college will best serve their dreams and aspirations. Of course, we would love it if some of them would seek to be trained in the ministry.
As for the younger ones doing their KCPE national exams, it is a time to either go forward into high-school or to go back and prepare for the next two years to re-take this exam. For some un-explainable reason, one’s score in the KCPE exam is viewed by Kenyan employers than the KCSE national exam. We set a minimum score to continue on kids didn’t make the cut-off mark. We have two students who will have to retake the two year preparation and retake the KCPE exam in 2019. It sounds like a big setback, but it is actually not. If they score better the second time, it will actually put them in a better place for future employment.
The bottom line for all of our kids is that the Lord has a well thought out purpose for each of their lives and has a great plan for each person to reach their full potential in life. We believe in our young people at KKV. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but we know WHO holds tomorrow. If we didn’t have that assurance that God has a plan and full ability to bring that plan to fruition, we would quickly lose hope in the midst of such a high performance expectations.
Thank you for joining us in prayer for them this Christmas season and into their next school year. They are the apple of God’s eye and we feel the same about each one.
