On Wednesday, Terri and Paula, two of our volunteers, came and helped the kids to make string bracelets. They took the kids by age group, and patiently instructed them. All of our kids, as well as the staff, are very grateful for the variety of projects and the consistency of time these great ladies volunteer.
Seventeen of the kids sent pen pal letters to Canada. Each one was individually decorated and addressed to the child who sent it. We also sent a bookmark in each letter that told some facts about Kenya. This is a wonderful way for the kids to learn about life in another culture.
Evans has returned to school this week. He is doing much better, although he is unable to participate in morning exercise time. We are grateful to God for his progress this far, and continue to believe for his complete healing.
The time is drawing near for the building dedication. Teacher Florence has been working with the kids to develop a program for them to present. The building is coming along very well, and we are excited to see the daily progress. We’ll keep you posted.
